FAQ MTN CAMP:

  • What time should be book flights for the trip home, when is checkout?
    • ​Checkout starts at 10:00am on Tuesday.  Campers taking the shuttle have priority. Flights after 1pm are safe.
  • Do you have escorts available for unaccompanied minors?
    • ​No, Wake Forest is not responsible for unaccompanied minors, only the transportation to and from the airport. 
  • Do we provide all the meals or do we need to bring food? What if my child has dietary restrictions?
    • Yes, all meals will be provided to overnight campers and the cafe will be notified of any restrictions.
  • ​What if I need to send medications with my son or daughter?
    • ​We will have licensed trainers in the dorms at all times.  They will be present at check-in to receive any and all medications and instructions for administration. 
  • What will be in the dorms upon arrival?
    • A bed (twin XL), microwave, and a mini-fridge. 
  • How many miles will the campers be running?
    • That will vary based on their fitness is when they arrive.  We will break them up into groups by mileage and ability level.
  • How are the roommates assigned? 
    • First we attempt to honor the requested roommates, then we divide them up by gender/age and place them on the appropriate floor.
  • What is the camper/counselor ratio?
    • 1/10, our counselors will be a mix of current WF athletes along with several D1 coaches.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    • There is a $200 non-refundable deposit included in the payment. Once we are within 3 weeks there will be no refunds of any kind. ​
  • What if my child is coming back from an injury, would they still gain something from attending?
    • YES! 3/4 of this experience is educational in nature. Each camper will leave with the knowledge of what it takes to be competitive at the next level.  The things you learn here will change your long-term trajectory.
  • Is there a team discount? 
    • Yes, it's $50/per person off for teams of 5 or more for the full experience. The refund will be issued after the campers arrive. 
  • Is it worth attending camp a second time?
    • YES.  We will cover more information than any one athlete/coach could process.  Returners will have a better base knowledge to absorb some of the more advanced concepts. 
  • What airport would you recommend flying into?
    • Asheville, NC, this is the only airport we offer a shuttle from.
  • Are there shuttles being provided from the airport?
    • Yes, a shuttle at 1pm(on time) and a shuttle at 6pm(late arrival). You will be added to a travel group-me to communicate with our staff the day of your flights. You will need to download the GroupMe app.
  • Is this a Wake Forest camp?
    • YES! This camp is put on by the entire Wake Forest XC staff, Thunder Road Running Company handles the logistical duties.
  • How many campers will be in attendance?
    • We will shut the registration down at 175, we sold out last year in less than 5 months of opening.​​​
  • Is there a day camper experience in 2025?
    • No, we discontinued the day camper experience due to lack of interest. ​​

CAMP PRIVACY POLICY
